Vivek Ramaswamy, who was designated by President Trump as co-chair of the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), will not assume this role. Following the announcement, sources revealed that he is no longer affiliated with DOGE. Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur and former presidential candidate, is expected to announce his campaign for the governorship of Ohio next week. He played a key role in the creation of DOGE alongside Elon Musk but must withdraw due to the organization’s framework. This decision follows Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s appointment of Jon Husted to the Senate, prompting Ramaswamy to pursue his gubernatorial ambitions. His earlier presidential campaign ended with a lackluster performance in the Iowa caucuses, after which he became a notable supporter of Trump, a factor that may enhance his prospects in the largely Republican state.
