A 95-year-old Hollywood actress was discovered deceased in her home in Los Angeles, which had been severely affected by the recent wildfires.

Earlier, Curry had been reported missing when her family was unable to locate her at an evacuation center. She was last seen on Tuesday, coinciding with the beginning of the Eaton Fire. Her granddaughter, Dalyce Kelley, shared the sorrowful news on Facebook late Sunday, confirming that the search had concluded with the discovery of her grandmother’s remains. In her heartfelt Facebook post, Kelley stated, “With a heavy heart, I share that our search for Momma D has come to an end, as her remains were found in her home.” She expressed the family’s anguish and the challenge of coming to terms with the tragic end of her grandmother’s life.

Kelley reminisced about her last moments with her grandmother, who had dropped her off at home in Altadena on Tuesday at midnight. Although she noticed the fire in the mountains, Kelley left to care for her sibling battling cancer, unaware of the looming danger. The following morning, a text message about a power outage at her grandmother’s residence surprised her. In her rush to check on her grandmother, an officer delivered the heartbreaking news: the fire had completely destroyed the property. Dalyce was missing, but Kelley was directed to the Pasadena Civic Center, where evacuees had been moved.

During the five days that law enforcement conducted a search for Kelley and her family, they maintained a sense of hope. Unfortunately, that hope was tragically extinguished when authorities found Curry’s remains within the ashes of her home.
