Barbra Streisand says she ‘can’t live this country’ if this happens
Barbra Streisand, a distinguished figure in Hollywood, has recently expressed her strong support for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, whom she characterized as a victim of a conservative plot designed to tarnish her professional image by delving into her personal life.
In a statement on X, the acclaimed singer and actress emphasized that Willis is simply trying to maintain a private relationship with Nathan Wade, the subordinate prosecutor she designated for the investigation involving Trump and 18 co-defendants charged with racketeering related to the 2020 election results in Georgia. “It is outrageous that Republicans are demanding the dismissal of Fani Willis. What is the justification? Do they think a woman cannot manage a personal life alongside her professional responsibilities? Men do this all the time! How ridiculous is that?” Streisand commented on Monday.
“Trump and his allies are targeting DA Fani Willis, who is prosecuting him for his attempts to overturn the voters’ decision in Georgia. Her personal connection with one of the prosecutors has no bearing on the facts of the case or Trump’s overt efforts to pressure the Secretary of State into ‘finding’ extra votes and presenting false electors to Congress. This is simply another diversion created by Trump,” she added.
