Former CIA Agent Suggests Mysterious Drones May Be Searching For

Former CIA officer and whistleblower Kevin Shipp has expressed his concerns regarding a series of unexplained drone sightings in New Jersey and Virginia, suggesting a possible connection to a secret government initiative aimed at detecting radiation anomalies. During an interview on the John Solomon Reports podcast, Shipp proposed that these drones might be part of a CIA program intended to mitigate potential nuclear threats.
Shipp articulated, “My concern is that these are radiation-detecting drones under a covert CIA plausible deniability program that are searching for radiation spikes.” He further elaborated that the initiative could be focused on the risk posed by suitcase-sized nuclear devices that went missing after the Soviet Union’s dissolution and were allegedly sold on the black market.
He noted that the CIA has advanced drone capabilities equipped with Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) detectors, which are specifically designed to identify elevated radiation levels and other threats. “If they’re sniffing for radiation, my big concern… is that this could be one of these suitcase devices,” he remarked, alluding to the nuclear weapons that remain unaccounted for since the Soviet Union’s collapse.
Shipp urged consideration of the locations where these drones have been observed, questioning, “What is there? What could be the target? Why are they over a lot of these DOD [Department of Defense] military bases?”
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been actively monitoring the drone activity, having issued two flight restrictions last week in the airspace surrounding President-elect Donald Trump’s Bedminster golf club in New Jersey. The initial reports of drone sightings emerged on November 18, prompting an investigation by federal officials.
Federal agencies, including the Pentagon, have indicated that there is no evidence linking the drone activity to any foreign entities and have reassured the public that there is no immediate threat.
- Despite numerous inquiries for clarification, both the FBI and the CIA have refrained from providing any comments regarding the matter.
Federal authorities have disclosed limited information concerning the drones, asserting that their existence does not endanger the public.
Shipp’s statements have reignited interest in the enigma surrounding the drone sightings.
His apprehensions underscore the possibility that the drones may be associated with a classified initiative designed to avert a potential nuclear or radiological event.
The sightings, coupled with the absence of definitive explanations, have ignited public intrigue and speculation.
In the absence of official validation regarding the drones’ purpose or origin, uncertainties persist regarding the involvement of federal agencies and the potential ramifications of these enigmatic flights over critical regions in New Jersey and Virginia.
