The View’: Joy Behar’s tumble leaves the audience stunned

Joy Behar’s recent incident on “The View” generated unexpected excitement on set. Despite efforts to enhance guest seating, the 80-year-old comedian inadvertently found herself on the floor, resulting in a comical moment.
During a live broadcast on Thursday, Behar humorously recounted the mishap, which occurred when she struggled to settle into a “dangerous” swivel chair. Reflecting on the event, she quipped, “Remember when I fell on stage here? My behind was not in the seat.”
Whoopi Goldberg shared her perspective on the situation, noting that the audience had a limited view compared to the hosts as they observed Behar’s attempts to avoid a fall. She remarked, “We saw you trying to figure out how not to fall onto the floor, and that was scary because you don’t know whether to catch you and potentially bother you by touching you.”
In her characteristic humorous manner, Behar likened the moving chairs to a swirling rollercoaster at Coney Island, playfully suggesting that her workplace resembled a theme park. However, her impromptu rollercoaster performance did lead to one positive outcome: the introduction of new safety features, including stationary chairs with four sturdy legs, a square seat, and a supportive back.
On Thursday, Behar showcased the show’s dedication to preventing such incidents by presenting the updated chairs. Nevertheless, not everyone was convinced of their suitability. Goldberg humorously remarked, “They’re not new to my behind because my behind doesn’t fit in this chair, as I’ve mentioned many times.”
Goldberg chuckled as she recalled that while her own behind fit comfortably in the old chair, Behar was not particularly pleased with it. The two continued to exchange lighthearted banter, making the best of their circumstances.
Goldberg, 67, came to Behar’s defense earlier this week following remarks from co-host Ana Navarro, 51, who claimed that Behar had been both hired and dismissed by the late Bill Geddie, co-creator of “The View.” The camaraderie between the hosts exemplified the dynamic nature of this enduring midday show.
Throughout the week, Behar attracted significant media attention when she referred to Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, as a “sadist.” She further elaborated her unique perspective by suggesting that Abbott derives pleasure from inflicting pain, sorrow, or humiliation on others, igniting discussions that extended beyond the confines of the program.
While Joy Behar’s unexpected fall provided an unforeseen moment, it also infused “The View” with humor and camaraderie, ensuring that the cherished daytime show would continue to delight and surprise its audience.
