Prince Harry and Meghan Markle received delightful news on the occasion of their sixth wedding anniversary. Today marks six years since they exchanged vows at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Their enchanting early summer ceremony attracted an audience of approximately 1.9 billion viewers globally and was graced by numerous celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey, David Beckham, and George Clooney.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are observing a ‘sugar anniversary,’ a term derived from the traditional gift associated with this milestone. This gift symbolizes the sweet narrative of their romance and the richness of enduring love.

However, as their affection for one another continues to flourish, their well-documented tensions with the royal family persist, raising concerns about the stability of their relationship.

Recently, Harry and Meghan concluded a three-day ‘quasi-royal’ tour in Nigeria from May 10 to 13. In 2020, they announced their decision to step back as working members of the royal family, subsequently relocating to Montecito, California, with their son Archie, who was born in London. They later welcomed their daughter, Lilibet Diana, in June 2021.

She was named in honor of Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, and Queen Elizabeth, affectionately referred to as Lilibet by her close family, including her husband, Prince Philip, and her sister, Princess Margaret.

Recently, Harry and Meghan completed a three-day tour of Nigeria from May 10 to 13, which they undertook in a ‘quasi-royal’ capacity. This engagement caused them to miss American Mother’s Day with their children as they met with various charities and officials at the Lagos State Governor’s Office.

During their time in Abuja, Meghan addressed an event focused on women in leadership, expressing her delight at discovering through a genealogy test that she is 43 percent Nigerian.

Prior to their visit to Nigeria, Harry was in the UK for an Invictus Games event in London but did not take the opportunity to visit his father, who is currently receiving treatment for cancer, despite being just three miles away at Clarence House.

As the bond between Harry and Meghan deepens, their well-publicized conflicts with the royal family continue to prompt speculation regarding the state of their relationship. Above: The former ‘fab four’ in September 2022.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams remarked to Metro: “It is unfortunate; the situation has deteriorated significantly with Harry not visiting his father. It appears that relations between the Sussexes and Buckingham Palace could hardly be worse.”

Harry had anticipated meeting his father during this trip, which followed a brief visit in February after Charles’s cancer diagnosis. However, Harry’s spokesperson indicated at that time, “In response to numerous inquiries and ongoing speculation regarding whether The Duke will meet with his father during his UK visit this week, it regrettably will not be feasible due to His Majesty’s full schedule.”

The Duke is certainly aware of his father’s commitments as outlined in his diary, along with various other priorities, and he looks forward to seeing him soon.

Over the years, Harry and Meghan have made numerous assertions regarding the royal family. A month prior to the birth of Lilibet, the Sussexes participated in an interview with Oprah, who was also a guest at their wedding, to discuss their departure from royal duties.

In his memoir, Spare, Harry claimed that the Princess of Wales caused Meghan to cry in the lead-up to their wedding due to a disagreement over the flower girl dress for Princess Charlotte. The couple is seen together after their wedding in 2018.

Regarded as one of the most revealing interviews of 2021, Harry and Meghan made several startling allegations about royal family members.

Their Netflix docuseries was released the following December, during which Harry stated that Meghan “sacrificed everything she ever knew, the freedom that she had, to join me in my world.”

He further remarked, “I ended up sacrificing everything that I know to join her in her world,” referring to his relocation abroad with his wife to her native country.

Since that time, the couple has secured several lucrative agreements with major companies, including Spotify, and Harry published his book Spare in 2023.

In his book, the Duke made various claims, including an altercation with the Prince of Wales after he described Meghan Markle as “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive.”

He also characterized Queen Camilla, his stepmother, as “dangerous” and reiterated that the Princess of Wales made Meghan cry over the flower girl dress issue.

Following their exit from royal life, Meghan and Harry have embraced numerous roles in social activism and philanthropy.

The couple is preparing to launch two new Netflix programs focused on cooking, gardening, and polo as part of their ongoing $100 million deal.

They are currently developing two non-fiction projects, which follow the recent launch of her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.

The Duchess intends to concentrate on lifestyle-oriented subjects such as gardening and cooking, a strategy that is likely to facilitate cross-promotion of her brand. The inaugural series will highlight her celebration of the pleasures associated with cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship.

In her initiative, Meghan has established an exclusive ‘jamfluencer’ club, extending invitations to only 50 of her friends to receive jars of her product.

Notable figures including Chrissy Teigen, Heather Dorak, Tracy Robbins, and Kris Jenner have received jars of the highly coveted jam.

In a seemingly pointed response to Meghan’s new business endeavor, Buckingham Palace released an advertisement for its strawberry preserve shortly after the Duchess introduced her product.
